[Protectorate Turn 1]

Both 'jacks received one Focus which they used to run. All other models ran forward as well.

[Circle Turn 1]

The Gnarloc was forced to run, as was the Argus. Kaya cast ‹ Occultation › on the Ghetorix and discarded one Fury. The Ghetorix then warped ‹ Hyper Aggressive › and was forced to run as well. The Shifting Stones did their thing.

[Protectorate Turn 1]

Each Warjack was allocated two Fury. First, the Choir sang the ‹ Hymn of Battle › onto the Warjacks.

The Repenter advanced, and engulfed the Gnarlhorn in the holy fire of Menoth. With a fully boosted attack he caused 4 points of damage and left the Circle Beast with a ‹ Fire Continuous Effect › .

[Protectorate Turn 2]

The Reckoner advanced as well, and also targeted the Gnarlhorn. He hit with a boosted attack, and also boosted the damage roll for a total of 9 points of damage. The Vassal then advanced and used ‹ Ancillary Attack › on the Reckoner, allowing him to shoot again, for an additional 6 points of damage. This second attack crippled the Body Aspect of the Warbeast.

Next, Kreoss advanced, taking cover behind the Reckoner, and cast ‹ Sacrosanct › on the Exemplar Knights.

The Knights then ran forwad, one being ‹ counter slammed › by the Gnarlhorn, which killed the chosen of Menoth.

[Protectorate Turn 2]

The Vassal Mechanik moved up as well, leaving Kreoss' troops deployed in a deep formation.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 2]

The fire continued to burn, causing another 6 points of damage onto the Gnarlhorn - which left the 'beast with 1 health point!

The Shifting Stones shifted the Ghetorix into the position you can see above marked with the blank base - far enough to also engage Kreoss.

[Circle Turn 2]

Kaya advanced, cast ‹ Spirit Door › on the Ghetorix and placed herself in base contact with Kreoss.

She attacked with a boosted hit roll. Scoring a critical hit, she knocked Kreoss down. With a boosted damage roll, she caused 4 points of damage.

Kaya bought an additional attack which hit automatically due to Kreoss being knocked down, and boosted the damage roll - for 0 damage!

Popping her feat, Kaya leached additonal 6 points of Fury, bought an additional attack and caused 11 points of damage with a boosted roll.

With yet another additional attack and boosted damage roll, she caused 5 points of damage which was enough to kill Kreoss.

Debriefing

  • Bernd (Circle Oboros)

This time we played two small 20 point games. I chose a highly mobile army featuring PKaya as my warcaster. She boosts the mat of my Warbeasts by two and therefore I hoped that I could get some use out of my Argus (who has only a mat of 5). The Argus also has some synergy with my other two warbeasts as he can give Pathfinder to Ghetorix and the Gnarlhorn.

My plan in both games was to get the alpha strike with the help of the Shiftig Stones and then use the Kaya's Feat to teleport the beasts to safety.

But Matthias' army featured quite a lot of shooting power and in the end he was the one who got the first attacks by shooting my Gnarlhorn. After his turn my beast had only a couple of boxes left. But to my surprise Matthias also moved his warcaster in teleporting range of Ghetorix and this spilled the doom of Kreoss.

  • Matthias (Protectorate of Menoth)

The game went well. I nearly killed the Gnarlhorn in one turn (1 point of damage missing including the fire continuous effect), and was deployed quite well with the Knights as a blocking line.

But of course I moved my Warcaster to far up the field again, opening myself for yet another successful assassination run... I really need to learn to keep my casters in the back of my troops...
