[Khador Turn 1]

The Old Witch started the game by camping on Focus.

The Gun Carirage moved forward and fired both its guns, which were out of range. One shot deviated backwards without doing any harm, the other deviated forwards and killed one of the two Mannekins it covered in its blast.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 1]

The Winterguard ran forward into the Khador objective area, the two Kodiaks ran forward as well. Scrappy took cover behind the Gun Carriage. The Old Witch moved up behind the Winter Guard and cast ‹ Murder of Crows › in front of the Winter Guard, followed by ‹ Iron Flesh › on the members of the Winter Guard unit. She then used ‹ Unseen Path › to reappear besides Scrap Jack.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 1]

The Wold Warden advanced and ‹ Geomancied Earth Spines › on the Winter Guard Unit. It fell short by ½ an inch and deviated harmlessly. Then he got riled for one Fury. The Wold Guardian ran forward besides him.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 1]

Baldur advanced and cast ‹ Solid Ground › as well as ‹ Flesh of Clay › . All other models advanced except the Mannekins which Bernd simply forgot about.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 2]

Zevanna allocated one Focus to Scrap Jack, and kept the rest for herself. She did not upkeep ‹ Murder of Crows › but ‹ Iron Flesh › . The Winter Guard advanced and killed one Mannekin as well as dealt two damage to the Sentry Stone.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 2]

The Gun Carriage advanced and inflicted one point of damage on a Shifting Stone. The same Shifting Stone was hit by one of the guns for two more damage. The other gun hit the Wold Guardian but was not able to penetrate its armour.

Scrappy ran forward, and the old With used ‹ Unseen Path › to again move up beside him. She then used ‹ Gallows › on the shifting Stone for a kill and popped her Feat.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 2]

Both Kodiaks advanced.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 2]

Baldur leached all the Fury and upkept ‹ Solid Ground › .

The Wold Warden ‹ Geomancied Earth Spikes › on the Winter Guard unit with a boosted to hit roll. He hit three but only killed one.

The Woldstalkers ‹ Zeyphyr › ed forward and fired on the Winter Guard unit, hitting five and killing four of these.

The Sentry Stone spawned one Mannekin.

The Wold Wyrd killed another 3 Winter Guard models.

Baldur advanced and suffered eight points of damage from the Old Witch's Feat. Then he cast ‹ Stone Skin › on the Guardian before using his own Feat. To protect himself, he cast ‹ Flesh of Clay › .

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 3]

Scrap Jack got one Focus allocated. He then advanced and killed one of the Shifting Stones with a boosted damage roll. The Kodiak advanced and easily dispatched the other Shifting Stone.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 3]

The Gun Carriage then charged the Wold Guardian but only caused one point of damage with one of its guns, the other attacks all missed.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 3]

The Old Witch advanced and placed ‹ A Murder of Crows › between herself and the Circle Beast.

The Winter Guard unit crossfired on the lonely Mannekin, killing it.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 3]

Baldur upkept ‹ Stoneskin › and ‹ Solid Ground › .

The Wold Guardian advanced and hit the Gun Carriage with a massive five attacks, leaving only two points of damage on the badly dented machine.

The Wold Warden advanced and attacked the Kodiak, hitting with both his initial attacks which gained him a third for free, and slammed the Kodiak 2" backwards, killing a Winter Guard. The Wold Warden bought an additional attack and also lashed out at the Gun Carriage, but missed it.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 3]

The Woldstalkers advanced. The Druid performed a coordinated fire action on the Knocked Down Kodiak. With eight damage in total, both arms of the Heavy Warjack were crippled.

The Wold Wyrd advanced and attacked the Winter Guard Stadard Bearer killing him. He was forced for an additional attack which missed the Officer on Snake Eyes! With the third attack, the Officer went down as well. The lone survivor of the unit did not pass his morale test and fled.

The Sentry Stone created another Mannekin.

Baldur moved away from The Old Wich, casting ‹ Flesh of Clay › along the way.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 4]

Zevanna kept all Focus for herself.

The lone Winter Guard decided he could not dishonour his comrades spent lifes, and turned around to coninue the fight.

The Wold Wyrd was attacked by the Kodiak and suffered eight points of damage.

The other Kodiak shook the Knocked Down effect and advanced to engage the Circle Wyrd beast.

The rifle man looking out the hatch of the Gun Carriage carefully picked off one Woldstalker. The Horses of the Carriage hit the Wold Guardian with a double six, damaged him with a double six and hit Aspect six! That much for probabilities... The other attacks missed - that much for probabilities...

The Kodiak hit the Warden and caused one point of damage.

Scrappy advanced and the Witch used ‹ Unseen Path › to follow up.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 4]

After Baldur leached all Fury, the Wyrd still had two left. Being a construct, no test was needed. Baldur upkept ‹ Stone Skin › but let go of ‹ Solid Ground › .

The Wold Warden attacked the Kodiak. The initial attacks finished off the Khador Heavy. With an additional attack and a boosted damage roll, the Gun Carriage was also dealt with.

The Wold Guardian, which was now unengaged, turned around, and with two attacks, each pushing the Khador 'jack back 1", wreckeded him and followed up.

The Black Clad Wayfarer advanced and attacked the Khadoran Caster but missed.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 4]

The Sentry Stone Mannekin sprayed a boosted attack at the last survivng Winter Guard and killed him.

The Wyrd used his Gun Fighter skill to shoot at the Kodiak which he engaged. He hit and boosted the damage roll, but still caused no harm.

The Woldstalkers swarmed the objective area.

Finally, Baldur cast ‹ Flesh of Clay › on himself again and healed himself for one Fury Point.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 4]

Overview at end of turn.

mediaobject

[Khador Turn 5]

Zevanna kept all Focus for herself.

The Kodiak caused 10 points of damage on the Wold Wyrd which crippled his Spirirt Aspect.

The Old Witch advanced and attacked the Stone Keeper with a boosted to hit roll. After contemplating, she did not boost the damage roll and immediately regretted it, as the Circle model survived with one damage point left. With her second attack and a boosted to hit roll she missed.

The rest of the Focus she camped on to increase her chance of survival of the Circle retaliation.

mediaobject

[Circle Turn 5]

Baldur upkept ‹ Stone Skin › .

The Wayclad Wayfarer moved into contact with the Old Witch but missed her.

The wold Guardian also moved into contact with her. He boosted his hit roll and as a result Zevanna was Knocked Down and suffered 8 points of damage. With the second attack he caused another 9 points of damage and killed her.

Debriefing

  • Bernd (Circle)

This game went nearly perfect for me. It was the first time I used the Woldwarden and he performed better than I expected.

On the other hand my Woldguardian was not able to kill Matthias' Battle Engine with his 5 attacks.

In general Matthias was not able to get a grip on my models while I dismantled his army piece by piece. And in the end I didn't loose a whole lot of stuff.

I think Matthias needs to use his Warcasters spells a littlte bit better. With spells like Gallows he should be able to drag one of my Warbeasts in his range and kill it.

But then the matchup was a little bit in my favour. Due to my immunity to blast damage the Battle Engine was not able to perform as good as it should have.

Now that I have won a couple of matches against Khador its time to win against Menoth as well! :-)

  • Matthias (Khador)

Well... at least I got to test my new toys (Gun Carriage and Kodiaks). Apart from that, it was a horrible game. My right flank collapsed to soon with nothing left to pluck the hole.

I did not know where to place The Old Witch most of the time, which left one of the Kodiaks out of her control in most turns.

On my right flank, the near invincible Wold Guardian and my bunched up troops there did not allow me any sensible moves either.

My desperate attempt to move Zevanna around the Circle flank to somehow get at Baldur didn't work out either.

Next game will be better :-) Well, it cannot be worse...
