Bernd (Circle)
This game I played without Infantry. At first it always looks like an uphill battle because the enemy has so much more stuff on the table.
But on the other hand, those Infantry models die really fast. I managed to kill a lot of stuff just by slamming and throwing his Warjacks in / through his lines.
I think against Khador this might be a good tactic generally, because their Warjacks are so hard to damage, so why not keep them at a distance and kill some stuff thereby?
In the end Matthias had to try a desperate assassination attempt, but it was due to some mistakes (ruleswise) I did the turn before. First of all I thought the effect of "Spirit Fang" would trigger on a hit, not on damage.
Thus both his Warjacks had a speed penalty which they should not have had.
And then I did my throw wrong, killing more models than I should have.
So in the end the game should have been a lot closer than it was.
Matthias (Khador)
At the beginning, the game went quite well. I am still not sure if it was a good idea to sacrifice the Manhunter, but he diverted the Stalker for one round and I guess that was woth it.
I moved up the field and managed to take out the Pureblood. The Winter Guard did quite a lot of damage with their CRAs.
The the Winter Guard and the Mechanics were all killed one after the other, and my 'jacks slammed and thrown around, which effectively prevented them from charging and engaging the enemy beasts.
In my last turn I thought about several possible scenarios, and then mixed them up which lead to a very poor last turn. Somehow one scenario had the effects of KD taken away from the Spriggan which would have allowed him to attack the Feral with reach, but I acted differently with Sorscha and the Focus on the Spriggan was wasted as he was not able to engage the Feral. Sorscha herself engaged the Stalker but had not enough Focus (remember the wasted one on the Spriggan?) to kill the beast.
Anyway, I probably would not have managed to win this game even if I hadn't screwed up the last turn.
